Mission Statement
Next Level Church is a FAITH-based body of believers that are equipped to bring radical change to a rapidly changing world. We seek to provide HOPE for the helpless by sharing with them the finished work of Jesus on the cross. We aim to reach the lost with a message of LOVE through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our Legacy
Next Level Church was founded in the summer of 2023 by Dr. James K. Bailey, III, and Shemika Bailey in the vibrant city of Nashville, Tennessee. With a vision to create a transformative community rooted in faith, they hosted an interest meeting in Nashville to present their vision to the local community. The overwhelming support at this meeting enabled the church to hit the ground running. With a chartering roster of 20 committed individuals, the church officially launched its first service on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
Affiliated with the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, Next Level Church quickly gained momentum. Through a generous gesture by Bishop Joseph W. Walker, III, the church began hosting its services at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church's Antioch location. This partnership and support from our bishop marked a pivotal moment in the early growth of the church.
Since its inception, Next Level Church has experienced significant growth, with membership now exceeding 100 individuals. The church has launched several impactful ministries, including Next Level University, a hub for spiritual education and leadership development, and The LVLUP Movement, which serves as an extension of the church's mission and culture. Under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Bailey and Shemika Bailey, Next Level Church continues to thrive, offering hope, love, and a sense of purpose to its growing congregation.
The story of Next Level Church is one of faith, determination, and a commitment to serving the Nashville community with excellence. As the church continues to expand, its mission remains steadfast—guiding individuals to reach their next level in faith and life.
Meet Our Leadership
DR. JAMES K. BAILEY, III
Dr. James K. Bailey, III, is the Senior Pastor of Next Level Church in Nashville, Tennessee, with over 30 years of experience preaching the Gospel and more than 20 years as a Senior Pastor. He holds a Doctor of Education from Walden University, a Master of Education from Tennessee State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology from American Baptist College. Dr. Bailey has also served as Executive Administrator of Kenwood High School in Clarksville, Tennessee, where he was named Middle Tennessee’s Principal of the Year in 2020. A dedicated mentor and leader, he continues to inspire through his ministry and community service. Dr. Bailey is married to Shemika L. Hambrick, and together they have two daughters, Ja'Mika and Ja'Mecia and a grandson.
SHEMIKA BAILEY
Shemika L. Bailey, a native of Nashville, TN, is the Co-Pastor of Next Level Church alongside her husband, Senior Pastor James K. Bailey, III. With a Bachelor of Business Administration from Tennessee State University and a Master of Business Education from Middle Tennessee State University, Shemika combines her professional expertise with her passion for ministry. Licensed to preach in 2007 and ordained in 2009, she is known for her gifts in teaching and intercession. She is also a licensed real estate agent and certified life coach. Above all, she cherishes her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother, committed to encouraging and empowering others through the word of God.
